Profile

Formative years in the verdant Border Ranges of Northern NSW instilled a deep appreciation of nature, community and creativity. With hindsight these themes have emerged time and again through my personal and professional life.

In 1988 I moved to Sydney and completed a Science Degree at the University of NSW. Over ten years my career progressed through operational management roles spanning three blue chip multinational companies, finally reporting to Managing Director level. My direct industry experience includes Pharmaceutical, FMCG Beverage and Medical Devices.

A career change began to crystallise whilst managing distribution for Diageo. There I met and collaborated with a leading organisational culture consultant. Our work generated significant improvement in performance and employee morale. The team and culture insights, theoretical frameworks and group-work approach resonated with my leadership style and personal values. Leveraging this experience I moved into a new role supporting leadership and cultural development across the Australian business. Extending that move, in 2002 I began working alongside culture consultant Joyce Bleby, in a professional development capacity.

I have since combined my cultural leadership capabilities and line management experience to stimulate team and leader development in a wide range of organisations. Practical evidence constantly affirms that a robust and healthy organisational environment contributes to enhanced quality of working life and sustained high performance.

Client Feedback

CEO Brauer Natural Medicine “Thorin has worked with our team over the past few years both in cultural development and also developing their leadership skills. He easily combines his commercial skills with his deep understanding of people, teams and dynamics. He offers great tools and frameworks to allow teams to develop themselves and is great at getting teams “unstuck”. I place a huge amount of value on his work and the insights he brings into people and the development of teams.”
